I took Kel and her friend Libbie to see John Mayer in Dallas last night. I drug my friend Kim "Funchick" along. Kim has a crazy, hard to pronounce last name, Fotjik, so everyone calls her "funchick". What an experience. First of all, the traffic. Living in WF, you get spoiled to driving anywhere in town in about 15 minutes. That was not the case last night. We were an hour late for the concert, because it took about an hour to go 2 miles. Second of all, the heat. Why did I think an outdoor concert in August would be a good idea? I was sweating in places that I didn't even know I had sebaceous glands!!! John Mayer was an amazing guitar player. He played the whole concert with his shirt off and performed for two hours. I was disappointed that he didn't do alot of his well known songs. I went just to hear "Split Screen Sadness" and "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room" but he did not play either. And NO, he did not do "Your Body is a Wonderland"! I did make a photography friend. I sat beside an Asian guy from Austin who is working on his photography degree. When I pulled out my camera he became my bud. He gave me a card with his URL and he is known in the Internet world as "Asian Cowboi"! I about fell out of my chair...I said to him "seriously, you are the Asian Cowboi in the photography world"? I loved it! Here are a few pics from the night. I only got a couple of John Mayer before security tried to confiscate my camera :(
