B.log B.lock

So, what do you write about on a blog? Do people really want to know things about your life? Well, this blog is mainly going to be about taking pictures. But today, I am going to share a photo of my kid. This is Raquel, or Kel, as I like to call her. She hates to have her picture taken (by me) but this day she gave in. She is the reason "I am who I am" and 16 years ago, she changed my life. Because of her birth, and the nurse who took care of me, I wanted to become a nurse. Because of raising her by myself, I actually FINISHED college. Because of her, I know that God is in the business of second chances. I am wildly proud of her, but it is not for the ordinary stuff and for too many years I measured her by "all the other kids". She loves going to Faith Mission, hanging out at the ARC and learning Sign Language. She has a heart for the "underdogs" of the world. At her age, this stuff was not even on my radar. She is beautiful physically, but there is so much more to her on the inside. I am treasuring these last two years with her, they will go too fast!

I finally found your blog and read (and loved) them all, but this one made me cry. Like you, my kids were my motivation for finishing school. I am so proud of my daughter, too. I'm proud of all my kids, but it almost breaks my heart how good she is. She's growing up so fast, and in the blink of an eye my first baby will be going off to college. Just hurts to think about it! Your pictures are so beautiful and bring out the subjects' personalities so well. I am amazed at how talented you are! God has given you so many gifts, and you truly are a special person. You'll be happy to know I finally have a mantle that I can hang a huge family picture over! Now I have to find a good photo place around here to get it done (not Walmart, I promise!).
